The Spanish Wine Federation (FEV) is a private organization that represents the Spanish winery industry grouping 800 wineries, directly or through the main regional or sectorial associations. 

Since its creation in 1978, the FEV has been working on behalf of the whole wine sector and especially for the wineries as a basic part of this sector. Now a days, it has become the first national reference in the wine field and a main driving force and representative of it all in Spain and internationally.

Miguel Torres Wineries

Miguel Torres Wineries

It is one of the main international winemakers groups and leading exporter of Spanish wine. It was founded in 1870 in Vilafranca. It currently exports to over 130 countries and has wineries in Chile, California, Ribera del Duero, Rioja, Priorat and Penedès. In the field of research, Torres leads the Cenit-Demeter project and member of the Cenit-Hygeia project, among other scientific work in which collaborates with national and international entities.

The Research Centre of Vine-and- Wine-related Science (ICVV) is an institution which deals with Viticulture and Oenology, created by the Government of La Rioja (by means of the Regional Agricultural Ministry), the Advisory Board for Scientific Research and the University of La Rioja.

The ICVV was born with the aim of generating new knowledge and technologies, as regards Viticulture and Oenology, which can be useful for a technological development within the viticultural sector, inherent in our culture and our farming economy.

 

Association of Family Wineries of Rioja

Association of Family Wineries of Rioja

It is a Non-profit making association, founded in April 1991, chartered, created with the name of PROVIR, Spanish for Riojan Wine producers.

It currently joins more than 40 family run wineries, hence its current name: Bodegas Familiares de Rioja. All wineries have their own vineyards: together totaling more than 3,500 hectares. This organization represents the social interests of around 70% of small and medium-sized wineries in Rioja and it is also characterized by the perfect blend between the youth of the management team of each winery and the experience of earlier generations.

It is a non-profit association, which was created in Haro (La Rioja), in 2002 by six founding partners. Today ABC is made up of nine wineries represented in the governing bodies of the Control Board of the DOCa Rioja and the Interprofessional Wine Organisation of Rioja (OIPVR), the second organization degree of representativeness within the marketer area with 11%.

Group of Wine Companies of Rioja

The Grupo Rioja (Grupo de Empresas Vinícolas de Rioja) is a business association that joins more than fifty ageing wineries of the Rioja Appellation of Origin of all sizes and characteristics which represent approximately two thirds of Rioja wine sales.

The origin of Grupo Rioja is fairly recent, as it is the successor of two historic associations: the Grupo de Criadores y Exportadores de Rioja and the Asociación de Empresas de la Zona Vinícola Rioja which in 2008 decided to join, starting a new era by becoming into the main winery association.
